OMG! How could this happen?

Came back from Maldives with a lot of exposed film. Looking forward for a lot of picture with blue sky and blue sea. Yeah, I was expecting that. But then after developed and got the films from lab, I just too shocked to see the result. How come? Look like those slide films were over exposed!!! I tell myself that there was a possibility of hope to get great picture from my scanning.

But I was wrong, no blue sky, no blue sea, just overexposed sky with too much white area. I just keep optimistic and telling myself that I still have hope.

First time I encounter with this kind of problem. Lomography X-pro Chrome 100 and Kodak EBX, is it the flat blue sky or blue sea are just too harsh for you? Or the lab ruin my film? I don't know, I still don't know the problem.

So the possibility? One, hot sun in Maldives was just too bright for normal setting of ISO 100 for slide film, I should set it as ISO 200. Two, the lab can't handle the cross process well. Before this, result from the lab is quite impress, maybe because of change of chemical? I should try other lab. But there is only 1 lab in Kuantan. The only choice for me is to send to KL next time. Three, the problem of camera light meter. I am not sure of this, maybe the light meter calculate the wrong measurement.

What's the fourth possibility?

I'm selfie

LC-A+ RL, Agfa CT Precisa
I'm selfie. So what is selfie?? From the term in wikipedia, "A selfie is a genre of self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phone. Selfies are often associated with social networking and photo sharing services such as MySpace, Facebook, and Instagram, where they are commonly posted. They are often casual, are typically taken either with a camera held at arm's length or in a mirror, and may include only the photographer or other people as well."

Oh, this is self-potrait photograph. This is not a typical selfie. Not camera phone or digital camera, not typically taken at arm's length or in a mirror. I took this with an analogue camera on tripod, with shoot with 6 meter long shutter release. So have you notice the curling black line? That's shutter release.

OK, everything set, focus ok, sit down, I pose with my imagination. Then I click it. I am SELFIE. Smile~ Have a nice day.

Lubitel 166+, my first medium format

First try on Medium Format
Lubitel 166+, Kodak Pro 160

My first medium format photo!
I bought Belair first,
but my dear got me the Lubitel 166+,
and I got it before the Belair!!
So, Lubitel 166+ is my first medium format!
So, do I LIKE IT? SURE!

The lens is so sharp, oh ya,
please steady it and don't shake during bulb mode.
For sure, it is difficult to take indoor shot,
low ISO, biggest aperture is f/4.5,
so please use cable release and tripod.
Or else you will get blur image.

Before I get this, I thought this Lubitel 166+ is zone focus.
I'm wrong, this is not.
This camera can focus in any distance,
not like the LC-A+.
This is surely the best I can get.

Now the problem with medium format is,
the film is too expensive.
Only 12 shots in a roll? I should take photos with more cautious.

Overall, LOVE it!

Long time didn't update my blog. Internet at home got problem for about 2 months, then my computer hard disk broke down, and I lost all my scanning. Luckily I still got those film and uploaded to lomography.com. Now, I only do have chance to share my photos with you which I took in December 2012. Enjoy.

LC-A Tunnel Vision Lens on iPhone 5

I didn't test the Tunnel Vision Lens on my LC-A+ RL, because it will take me some time to develop the film to show you the effect and result. So I tried it with my iPhone 5. I just attached on it. Let's go.

Captured with lens
Captured without lens

So you can see, when it attached with the lens, it become wide angle. Only sharp in the middle and blur on the corner. Maybe it will be more obvious when try on full frame camera. The lens is about 0.45x, that's mean if attached on LC-A+, 32mm will become about 15mm. This is so wide, actually wider than the 20mm Wide Angle Lens.

Captured with only Macro lens

I want to see some Lomo effect. Let's try with Hipstamatic.

After I tested with iPhone 5, I am so excited to try on LC-A+. But maybe not macro, because the distance is too near, unbelievable near, is about 2cm. Can it be? Will I need to stick the magnetic ring on the camera? Still thinking about it.

Received my Tunnel Vision Lens

Since Lomography online shop offer the 50% discount for LC-A accessory, then I take it. I always admire the Tunnel Vision Lens, but the price pull me off. I made a move this time to get this lens.

I don't know how was the lens, but I received a big box from the courier. When I opened it, only got a small grey bag in the big box. Put such a small thing in a BIG Box? Just wonder. No surprise from Lomography. Hehe. I thought would have something else.

Just a small grey bag in the box
The lens is so small, just same as my thumb size. 4 magnetic rings are included in the package. Nice. I thought just 2 rings, but the end get 4 rings. The lens is far more smaller and lighter if compare to the Wide angle lens (which is one of my favorite lens).

So how was the performance and effect? Stay tune.

From Day 1 of Chinese New Year

Yes, Chinese New Year is the big day for Chinese, and also holiday for all people. Happy Chinese New Year and Gong Xi Fatt Chai. For me, Chinese New Year is some sort like days for me to rest and relax. I am not tension or stress, but I need rest and relax too. Especially when working 6 days a week, receive order, sort out documents and etc etc, and also working out so hard for six packs and still can't get it. Just wonder.

10 February 2013 is the first day of CNY
So I wish you all Happy Chinese New Year with a good fortune and prosperous year.

Warm wishing from  me
Officially, I am not married. So I still can receive Ang Pao. But I am no longer a kid, who gave then I will take, who don't then I wouldn't mind. Ang Pao is not about the amount of money in it, is about fortune, luck and prosperous from the elders to the young one. They wish you with their best.

Ang Pao, at grandmother's house.

When I was young, I used to gather with group of friends. Now, I still, but the heads are lesser. Those who are married, got more tasks to do, so they didn't join. Those who just got a baby, even got more harder task to take care of their child, so they are too tired to join. So just left those that still not yet marry, that's me, to gather together. But when I am getting older, I feel like I should spend more time with family. I have to admit, I met my friend more than my family for the whole year. Brother and sister are working outstation, they seldom come back.

5 prosperous at home
Eating is great in Chinese New Year! All kind of food and biscuits. So then, where's my six packs?

My favourite
Reunion Dinner, Home cooked, done by me and sis
We had dinner at restaurant too. Lau Sang is a must in Chinese New Year, to have a great fortune and prosperous year.

Red is always the main color for Chinese New Year, Gold is the second color which is so important for Chinese New Year. I wish everyone have a good fortune and prosperous new year. Gong Xi Fa Cai.

Chinese New Year is coming

Chinese New Year is around the corner. Today is the third day before the Chinese New Year. 2 more days to go, and I still got my job to do. After that, is the time to celebrate. Celebrate? More to accurate, time to rest and relax.

When come to Chinese New Year, I think about red. I still not married, although I am too old to get red packet from elders, but I will take if they still give. Haha. This is just a way of prosperous.

Wishing you a Happy Chinese New Year and a good fortune and healthy year ahead. Gong Xi Gong Xi.

Left the digital behind.......

When you left the digital behind, then your blog no longer get update. Yes, I left the digital behind, why? Because I got problem with my house phone line. It was about 1 month ago, I lost the connection until now. It's so difficult when you can't online at your home. I can't upload my scanned photos, especially photos from Lubitel 166+ and Belair, both medium format. Don't know when will get back my line, still waiting, and I already made so many complaint to TM, but still, they didn't fix my problem. Totally disappointed.

Is it film totally in analogue? Nope, it is not. How you share your photo online? We have to scan it, that's mean it is digital. What is fully analogue? Film developed in analogue, how about photos? Photo should printed in darkroom, using the very old way, use photo paper, use chemical. Actually I don't know how is the analogue way to print the photo. I would like to know, and hope somebody could show me, or maybe I could do it once.
