Tipster of the week!!

I made it!! Tipster of the week!! Recently I just submitted 2 tipster articles, one of them has been chosen as tipster of the week.

Shoot with your Horizon Perfekt Day and Night

Horizon Perfekt always my favorite camera, although it stays at its dry box for few months, but I still love it. I will bring him out soon. Because I'm going to Genting Highlands this week for Khalil Fong's concert. So it is time to bring my lovely camera out for a walk.

But still, even though I developed the Horizon film, I can't get it scan. Because I sold my scanner. I'm looking for a scanner which could scan 2 or 4 strips of film at once. Probably Canon 9000F or Epson V700. Those camera are able to scan 120 film format. As this mean, I can get Lubitel 166+?

I'm collecting piggies points now. But what should I get? I got all those camera that I'm interested, so far do not have any camera that I want to bump in for. So, probably, maybe, Spinner motorizer, which is more expensive than Spinner, or Joby GorillaPod, which is nice and easy to use tripod, or maybe Lubitel 166+?? But then 120 film is so expensive.

Collect piggy first, think afterward.

How to slot yourself into the Horizon photo

Horizon Perfekt is a great camera. But the camera do not have self timer, so when there is no body around, how you want to take self portrait with horizon perfekt? You go out with friends, then want to take group photo, how you slot yourself into the group?

Horizon Perfekt do have slow shutter, 1/2 seconds. I got the idea, set up tripod, the lens swing from left to right, after everything get done, fire the shutter and run to the right side of camera and pose. Can this work?

Where am I?

Street view at Jimbaran Bali

Horizon Perfekt, Lomography X-pro Slide 200
Bali's street view is unique.
Small lanes, walkways, small roads, narrow roads,
houses in the lanes,
deep deep in the lanes,
difficult to locate if you really don't know the location.

I love it.
The view, the street, the building,
the architecture, the designs,
everything about it.

Sunset at Kuta, Bali

Just went for a vacation in March.
Been to Bali, for the third time.
This is a nice place.
I feel good when I were there.
Not just because of the holiday mood, is about the feeling.

Light meter FREE

I do have a Horizon Perfekt. It is a fully manual camera, which means we need to decide on shutter speed and aperture. So, either you're very familiar with the exposure, or else, to get a correct exposure, you will need a light meter.

YES, buy a light meter, which maybe cost you about RM500, or if you have smart phone, rely on digital this time, download the free light meter. Turn your smart phone to a free light meter.

iPhone do have free light meter. I'm using this. Easy and good, fast and accurate.

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/pocket-light-meter/id381698089?mt=8

Pick the ISO, 100 if lomography xpro 100, then decide on the aperture or shutter speed, just either one. After you pick one, the other will automatically give you the correct reading.

Click on the area that you want the correct exposure. Just like sunset, click on the sky if you want the sky in correct exposure, the sky will has brilliant color, but you will lost the details on land, which all will be in shadow. If you want to see the details on land, click on land to get the correct exposure.

Get fun with it.
